This article talks about good bedroom furniture available in unconventional places like garage sales and flea markets.
Furniture has become the high point of a good and well looked after home. There are special collections for each part of the house including guest rooms, bedrooms, living rooms, study and children rooms. The smart and the savvy also want to add aesthetic fixtures and designer furniture to their kitchens, gardens and patio. While the luxury home look may not be practical for all, it inspires others with lesser means also to aspire for more.
Bedroom furniture is almost the first thing that everyone looks to own and possess. As adult children move away from their parent’s home they want a living space with their own identity and style and yet cannot afford everything that they want. Bedroom furniture is available sometimes in run down conditions in flea markets or antique shops or salvage places. These old furniture have been let go or passed on by someone who once owned it and has no further use for it for a variety of reasons. This does not mean that the furniture is bad.
Sometimes the furniture available at flea markets and garage sales consists of an entire bedroom collection such as beds, a chest of drawers, a dresser and even furnishings to match the decor. Furniture available in garage sales and flea markets may not be ready to use immediately and may also not be of your immediate choice but it’s worth exploring the options due to the unmatched prices at which they come. Mostly the bedroom furniture at such flea shops and garage shops may be heavy and outdated. However, a little creativity, some polish work and a little attempt at accessorizing it well with brass knobs, nice head posts, good furnishings and excellent lighting may make your interiors look good.
When money is saved on the main purchase of bedroom furniture the other stuff can come in over the next few weeks or months. Flea market bought bedroom furniture will always have a recycle market; sometimes it will also have a history like last used at so and so mansion, originally belonging to royal families and the likes. Some smart people do not actually go to flea markets to buy the bedroom furniture but look for original brass drawer pulls, door knobs, small basins and other material in solid original brass. The metal gives a nice look, is perennial, can be maintained with some polish, scrub and clean and can be sold stand alone as an investment option if it carries a history. Garage sales are also a good way to look for bedroom furniture as sometimes people would want to dispose off a part of their furniture, like a chest of drawers, stools or a futon or a nice mirror and they don’t want to incur costs for lugging and carting it to the flea market. The options available may be far and few but sometimes it’s a great option to augment or supplement your flea market bedroom furniture with knick knacks from the garage sale.
